Envy.  As a kid, I saw a mid-'50's rocket launch from the swamp (with quicksand--I remember my aunt warning me not to go wading) directly across from Cape Canaveral. Have never forgotten the awe and majesty of that. I think about that uplifting (pun intended) experience sometimes when I am feeling really down about the idiocy/greed/hatefulness of the human species. 

Would love to see one in person, it was awesome just watching the live stream.

My husband, son and I were vacationing in Orlando and went to see a Space shuttle launch.  They had been having trouble with the shuttle so launches weren't happening very often.  We took a chance and got up at 3 in the morning and drove to a look out point.   They almost cancel it three times and then decided to launch,  the roar of the engine was impressive but the shaking of the ground so far away was amazing.  We could have been a launch guest,  my husband's second cousin was head of the space shuttle program.  We decided to watch from a distance and not bother him even though other family members had.  My in-laws were special guest to see the Hubble telescope launched into space.    Denice

Isn't it nice when a factory shut down works to your advantage.    The company my husband worked for shut down at Christmas for two weeks every year.  Most people used some of their vacation time,  one year they shut down  for over a month.  My husband was promised a job when they reopened  so we decided to take a long vacation in New Mexico and Texas.  We did a no maps, reservations, computers  trip and the areas we were in didn't have cell phone service.   We found ourselves at the strangest little towns and tourist attractions.  Now that he is retired I hope to do it again.   Denice

My test kiln is still waiting on me 'finishing' the software so it works well. Keep getting a few weeks of inspiration then a good few weeks lacking any urge to program. Too cold and dark now to fire the gas kiln.

Yea. Well I wish you luck figuring that out! I am sure you will nail it down soon enough.

Thank you for the offer but it is a bit of a drive from here They are rebuilding a hydrogen kiln at work that has about 6 brick thick walls so there's plenty for me to sort through and find the good ones.

lovely! And i like the music compilation! I plan to make a pot with 'she's crafty" playing. I just suck at video editing and have no idea how to add music

I use Adobe premier pro to edit. Adding music is quite easy, you have video tracks and audio track and once you have imported in the audio to the software you just drag in into the track. I am sure most software will be a similar thing but I have not used any others. Whatever software you choose I am sure there will be many tutorials explaining how to use it.

My kilngod effigies have been reduced to sitting on a shelf as they were not very good at protecting the kiln. They glare at me from afar but I just laugh and start quoting V=IR

don't tempt them, you may need them in future, even if just to cuss!

Joel, I was talking to a friend this morning and she suggested "reporting" the hacking of your account. Apparently IG can "clean up" your account.

I don't have an Instagram account but received an email from them last week, so something might be going on here in the uk. Never had anything to do with it before this.

Spend another £90 on a converter or £xx on a new motor. Or wait for a single phase one to come along.....

Well I have purchased a skutt and very excited for it arriving on Wednesday :DD

Me too, another health problem popped up and I have two groups of relatives coming to stay with us until Oct. 7. I guess I am just overwhelmed.

Already got the burner as an early Christmas present

I know lots of people who get new shoes for an old outfit, then use the new shoes as a reason for a new outfit...works for me

I love old shoes, they fit and feel so much better. I wish there was somebody who could buy me a kiln for Christmas but that takes out a lot of the journey. I am only half in it for the end results.

Yeah, and mangled USB drivers are also disrupting. Thought it was the attached hardware!

And depression ain't helping much either.
