That’s great! Hope it stays that way.
-
The kilns feel so much hotter in the summer than the winter. There is only a 20 or 30 degree difference in the room temp, It doesn't seem like you should be able to notice it when your firing in the 2000 degree range. Denice
-
my kilns are outside in large 30x40 covered roof area.open on two sides.

Buddy, you are the dang Energizer bunny.
-
When you post about slowing down; that means you are going to fire the 42Cf once a week instead of twice?
-
Mixed up two clay bodies (50/50)for fellow potter who is 83 yr old.Its 500# and I will drop it off to her in next few days .It less than a two hour job with the Peter pugger.I do this every year for her.I hope someone does it for me when I'm 83.

I have used and liked her work for the past 35+ years. We had the same teacher. She can no longer lift a box of clay.
but a pug she can handle. She gave up shows long ago but still supplies a few outlets.

I'm planning a vacation this year as well.Spent the day on the river saw two other fishermen-no bites but a great day in Redwood National park on the river
-
Nice. I haven't been fishing in ages. I used to crappie fish on the river every year when season struck. Nothing like sitting on a tree going into the river and catching a bucket load of fish.

Enjoy your time off. Maybe, when you are doing your dives, you could find one of those multi-million dollar shipwrecks...
-
Back in the 80s I was the researcher for a amateur underwater salvage co. and ran across an article on à California shipwreck. It crashed into the rocks along the coast and was sinking. Someone went by the office to find the purser stuffing his pockets with gold coins from the safe. He told him hey, you can't swim with all that money! I know that, all my life I wanted to die rich...nows my chance!

Sales where up this year

I love that! Yes, I'm definitely a mud potter. If I had someone to do all the glazing and firing I would be so happy.
-
I'm TOTALLY a mud potter. I hate trimming and glazing, but throwing and decorating with underglaze? I could do that forever!
-
I love everything to do with the clay .... throwing, forming, coiling, trimming, carving, slip trailing. The glazing process I only tolerate because of the finished result.
-
My test of the Iron Crystalline cone 10 glaze in Ceramics Monthly came out just as in the photo-when does that happen?

You're lucky you live somewhere that allows you to do this. Also, that nobody vandalizes your cases overnight. Must live in a nice place.

My booth locks up really well.I posted a photo a few years ago of it here. And its in front of our locally owned pet store-has security some of the time as well in shopping center-just not 24/7
This is my 39th year in that shopping center-not sure how many more I want to do.
a few maybe. I build the booth in 2.5 hours today then add pottery in am for 1st start day. I made this lockable booth just for this location-store it the whole year just for this .

Aha. Apparently I'm in the "wrong" part.

We're having a "warm" day today (ha, 38F), and the two feet of snow we got this winter is turning into a slushy, muddy, slippery nightmare. The water is flowing down the streets in rivers... it's blech!!
