Moved!
We made it all the way to our new town* ok this last Sunday.
Most all our stuff is in storage whilst we stay with our Son and look for a new house. The movers left my wheel and a box of clay near the front, so I might set up to start making greenware** if I get bored, heh. ...no idea where my ribs, sponges, stick, chamois an' all are. However, this town has what appears to be a fully appointed Ceramic Supply store! !! It's open on Tuesday and Saturday, I want to go to there...
This was a nice space to work in.
That big window supplies a lot of light.
Lots of shelving, just enough counter space.
The next space, I'll need some heating/cooling, for it gets both hotter and colder here than Los Osos...The back yard was coming along.
Just about everything needs a pruning.
I hope the new owners keep it up and, And, keep the bird feeder full...
There are many of the same small/songbirds here in Chico. Interesting that the House Finch here has a slightly different song than those in Los Osos.*Chico, California
Where IMCO is just over a hundred miles away; I'll be able to make a clay run on little more than a whim!**I'd smashed a hundred fifty plus hours of work into buckets for reclaiming later on.

Hello, In other forums I am in you must introduce yourself before asking or participating. This is my Intro....I have become obsessed with sculpture and "bowls" - handmade and slab building with glazing usually. I am untrained but have fearless - not interested in perfection....lean toward the Japanese term - Shouganai (it can't be helped, move forward or "nothing lasts"). I think forums are a great help in learning and will ask my starting question shortly ;-) Locosan/Jerry

Oh no--no need for the "sorry"...don't do that!! It is kind of ridiculous to try and make someone feel "warmer" by detailing how much more frozen and cold it is somewhere else! That's like telling someone who has lost a limb that "It could be worse, you could have lost both". When you're cold, you're cold!! Bummer about having to defer your work, too. Hope it warms up soon.

Hello Everyone, I just joined and don't have a clue if I'm doing this right! LOL I've been chasing the idea of mixing different forms of art and funneling them into clay one way or another. I fell into this forum looking for answers and love how kind everyone is with "all souls that enter." I'm very glad to be here.

Welcome to the Forums. If you post your query in one of the topical forums you will surely receive replies. You could also use Search for topics relevant to your interests. If you add it as a new topic, pick a name to function like a keyword to facilitate search in the future (like "Handles", rather than "I need help".)

Hi Liam,
In previous posts you mentioned getting waterslide decals on Amazon. Can you tell me which ones work? I've tried a couple of waterslide decals from ebay and the image gets distorted during firing, kind of melts a little.
I thought it was something I was doing wrong and I tried several different firing temperatures, but always get the same bad result. Now I think it's something with the decal paper that causes the distortion when reaching higher temps. I am aware of the whole unfortunate litigation situation and I am trying to avoid supporting Fired On. If you can point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated!

Well, hot diggity dog--I have received an invite from the Ceramics Art Network's magazine, Ceramics Monthly, to write a short article w/pics for the Quick Tip series. It will be about my simple "works for me" inventory/storage system.

For those that don't know about us
Reitz Ranch Center For Ceramic Arts Homepage
Reitz Ranch is comprised of 14 acres on the beautiful Verde River in Clarkdale, Az. Nestled between Cottonwood, Jerome, Clarkdale, and Sedona, the ranch offers easy access from any spot here in the heart of Arizona wine country. With a remote feel, the ranch is still within a 20 minute drive of stores, restaurants, and nightspots.
Built on the bones of a working ranch, the rich heritage of the ranch is apparent everywhere you look. A bunkhouse built over 100 years ago out of river rock, well pump handles, and literally hundreds of Don’s “porch pots” add to the experience.
Whether you’re a beginning potter, advanced hobbyist, or working professional, then ranch can meet your needs. A well-equipped open studio, a wood fired kiln selection, and most importantly, a helpful community of wonderful people with the same interests will make you feel right at home.
