  1. Hi Liam,

In previous posts you mentioned getting waterslide decals on Amazon.  Can you tell me which ones work?  I've tried a couple of waterslide decals from ebay and the image gets distorted during firing, kind of melts a little.

I thought it was something I was doing wrong and I tried several different firing temperatures, but always get the same bad result.  Now I think it's something with the decal paper that causes the distortion when reaching higher temps.  I am aware of the whole unfortunate litigation situation and I am trying to avoid supporting Fired On.  If you can point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @Sonia, I haven't used them yet so I can't help you.  I suggest looking through the reviews to see if any mention using them on pottery.

Thanks Liam.  I have been going through the reviews and Questions on listings but I've yet to find one that says it works in a kiln.  There are many listings and I haven't read all of them!  So far, if a kiln is mentioned in a review or as a question they have all said they don't work.  I'll keep searching!  Might have to bite the bullet and purchase Fire-On paper, which I really want to avoid supporting them.

      Thanks again, Sonia

Maybe post this as a topic in Studio Operations/Making Work-might get some discussion going.

  2. Hi Steve and Liam, I'm new to firing decals and I've been getting poor results and couldn't figure out what was going wrong until I stumbled across your post Steve! My results are distored and "melted" (similar to your picture) and I've tried 3 different firing temperatures. I bought my decals from ebay. Were either of you able to find a good source of decals that aren't $4 a page? Your insights are greatly appreciated!! Sonia
