Accident in 2001 coming back to haunt me. Impact tore my pancreas and spleen, among other things. This too will pass.

  3. Could not agree more Mark- beautiful work.
  4. Same thing here, good color shift from vibrant to soothing. Easy to imagine combinations with whites, greens, blues, and pastel variations of tans.

Still trying to wrap my head around that myself. Do not have a real explanation at the moment- very odd indeed.

Roberta: watched today: kiln is cooling off way too fast.

Love the granite look this firing produced- good job.

    Narrow Tray

Lee: Next time you run this glaze, try adding 0.25 up to 0.50% alumina, it will help greatly with glaze flow. Crystalline glaze is extremely fluid by nature. I like the softness of this piece, good work! Tom

    5Neo

Roberta: fired in with the other examples shown. The only logical reason I can come up with is the NEO has a very high COE in and of itself. Trying to track some info on it, TY for the kind words.

    From the album: Clay Tests

5% Neodymium (rare earth). Color typical, however COE issue created for some reason.

    From the album: Clay Tests

Coma Clay: 3% copper carb plus 0.25% cobalt ox. Colorants flipped: typically the field would be more blue and the crystals green.

  14. There is something about this piece that draws me into it. A sense of illusion that makes me question my perception. Which is why I like it so much. Great work!!

  16. I have seen a version of this before: lets say 1500BC or so. The detailing draws the eye into the piece. Proportion is the hardest part when doing this kind of piece: but you did it well- very nice. Nerd
  17. Loaded some rare earth combinations this morning. Have never really tested them to any degree. Doc has be sidelined, bored to tears.
