  1. Joseph, it's a Scott Creek Super Duper clay gun or something like that. I am really liking it for handles. They're becoming much more consistent. And I like that they have a bit of their own texture. I plan to do an extruder scope soon if you go on periscope.
  2. Thanks, Mark! I used the larger one yesterday and it was very nice overall! I've recently started using a clay gun for the handles so they feel better in the hand, a little more balanced with the size of the mug.
  3. Spent 30 minutes this afternoon weighing and wedging clay to throw after my son's bedtime. Only he got sick so instead of throwing clay I dealt with throw up.

Some glazes stink worse than human waste after time!

  14. I'm not super fond of quotes either! But people like them so I thought I might try it. I've done a wedding date before but that level of customization is super stressful so I don't want to do it again. I do remember that my mom had a set of dishes with recipes in them that I really liked but I think I would have to do an iron oxide decal for that. I have no idea if people still hang plates but I've been planning to make a set of platters that are intended to double as wall decor in my dining room.
  15. I had thought about making these with a quote inside; and/or with wall hangers of some kind on the back so they can be displayed on the wall when not in use.
  16. Joseph, these are some of the nicest things anybody has ever said to me about my work. Thank you so much.
  17. Sorry, somehow I missed all these comments! This is brushed. I've used Stoned Denim dipped but it gives more of a uniform look, a lighter, more solid blue. I love the random streaks of brown mixed in with the blue so even though I just purchased 5 lbs of it I still plan to brush it on.
  18. My friend took one look at it and claimed it as her own. LOL
  19. Thank you! This piece is lovely and I look forward to making more like it that DON'T have to be refired!
  20. Thank you, @Roberta12 . I'm so happy with this one. The whole piece was glaze fired to Cone 5 with clear over the interior. I'm always thinking how something is going to be in use and how it will be kept clean. This clay is so rough that without clear it would harbor all kinds of unpleasantness if left unglazed.
  21. I'm SO HAPPY with my red pie plate! New photos in the gallery, take a peek. :)

Thank you all for your kind comments. :) I am so pleased with the last kiln load ... at least ... It misfired so half the kiln load is perfect and the other half has bubbling and crawling. But I honestly would prefer that than there being something slight wrong with every piece!

I really like the inlay effect. Looks great!
