  9. I don't use the nozzle thingy to fill them, I just squeeze the air out and suck up the slip, then wipe off the outside. Not too bad.
  10. This came out really pretty!
  11. Very nice! The look is great!
  12. I use a Xiem precision trailer. I would be happy to PM you with tips and suggestions on using it if you'd like! http://www.xiemtoolsusa.com/3oz-Bulb--Precision-Applicator_p_159.html
  13. Oh, you have me pegged. Normally I make the slip trailing as high profile as possible!
  14. Thank you! This is meant to be a plain piece that can coordinate with my more highly detailed, high contrast work that I make in collections. This is the closest to no decoration I can bear.

The bowl is the largest I've ever thrown, I believe it's 11" across and four or five inches tall. Each item is decorated on the exterior with a carved design of wildflowers that I hand fill with glaze. Very time intensive design but I do love it anyway.

The results of an experiment with adding a touch of decoration. I kept the profile of the slip trailing lower than normal so I didn't add a hard-to-clean texture to the inside of a bowl. It came out really nicely.

We were discussing the boring expanse of a bowl interior. I decided to experiment with adding a touch of decoration without adding too much texture. I'm very happy with how this bowl came out.

Thrown in Speckled Buff and then carved. After firing, applied glaze to the deep carved portions and wiped away excess leaving the exterior clay body bare.

Potbellied mug carved with a paisley design. The deep carved portion has been filled with green glaze to match the interior, top, and handle. The rest of the mug belly has been left bare Speckled Buff.

  21. I really like these. I love the feeling of depth that the multiple layers and techniques gives these mugs. Well done, Paul!
  22. This is a show from last year but I still have the display.
