  1. Glaze day today-another large kiln load

  2. Glaze fire in am-finally some show pots.

  3. loaded a huge bisque kiln-firing in am while mixing glaze for Mondays glaze day-I have my cat urn in this load.

      I have made 5 urns for cats.

      3 are for my own cats-one got hit on the road a few weeks ago and is in the freezer . I'll be creameating him next week in small gas kiln along with a friends cat.

      I don't recall, from your posting on it before. Do you cremate them, in the urn during the glaze firing? If so, do you glaze the lids shut?

  4. Fired two glaze kilns today-was in the 90's around them as the day was a hot one. Two day cool now-hoping for fog

      It's gonna be 95F here tomorrow--BLAH! It's never that hot here this early in June. Gonna be a scorcher this summer...

      two is rare-4 is normal-5-6 on about 1/5 of the work.

      Excellent. Many students usually sigh, when I tell them, I expect them to use multiple colors on a piece... As opposed to glazing the entire thing dark blue...

      I love that! Yes, I'm definitely a mud potter. If I had someone to do all the glazing and firing I would be so happy.

      I'm TOTALLY a mud potter. I hate trimming and glazing, but throwing and decorating with underglaze? I could do that forever! ^_^

      I love everything to do with the clay .... throwing, forming, coiling, trimming, carving, slip trailing. The glazing process I only tolerate because of the finished result.

  10. My test of the Iron Crystalline cone 10 glaze in Ceramics Monthly came out just as in the photo-when does that happen?
