  1. I'm not super fond of quotes either! But people like them so I thought I might try it. I've done a wedding date before but that level of customization is super stressful so I don't want to do it again. I do remember that my mom had a set of dishes with recipes in them that I really liked but I think I would have to do an iron oxide decal for that. I have no idea if people still hang plates but I've been planning to make a set of platters that are intended to double as wall decor in my dining room.
  2. I had thought about making these with a quote inside; and/or with wall hangers of some kind on the back so they can be displayed on the wall when not in use.
  3. Joseph, these are some of the nicest things anybody has ever said to me about my work. Thank you so much.
  4. Sorry, somehow I missed all these comments! This is brushed. I've used Stoned Denim dipped but it gives more of a uniform look, a lighter, more solid blue. I love the random streaks of brown mixed in with the blue so even though I just purchased 5 lbs of it I still plan to brush it on.
  5. My friend took one look at it and claimed it as her own. LOL
  6. Thank you! This piece is lovely and I look forward to making more like it that DON'T have to be refired!
  7. Thank you, @Roberta12 . I'm so happy with this one. The whole piece was glaze fired to Cone 5 with clear over the interior. I'm always thinking how something is going to be in use and how it will be kept clean. This clay is so rough that without clear it would harbor all kinds of unpleasantness if left unglazed.
  8. I'm SO HAPPY with my red pie plate! New photos in the gallery, take a peek. :)

Thank you all for your kind comments. :) I am so pleased with the last kiln load ... at least ... It misfired so half the kiln load is perfect and the other half has bubbling and crawling. But I honestly would prefer that than there being something slight wrong with every piece!

I love these new handles. I tried the "ruffled" pie plates but that just wasn't me. But these art deco handles make me happy!

    Handmade Clay Stamps

These are some of my handmade clay stamps that I sell on Etsy.

I visualize this worn on a long chain around one's neck to avoid losing it. This was an idea from my seven-year-old nephew who made a leaf stamp and then made a hole in the handle "so it can be a necklace too". Brilliant child!!
  20. Bisque load this week, glaze load next week. I've been trying some new designs so I'm very excited for this round of firing.

Firing is elemental. Sorry, best I got on short notice.

  21. My niece and I were playing, "If I Had a Million Dollars". I said I would give her a private performance by her favorite band. She said she would give me a lifetime supply of glazes. Awwwwwwwww.

I'm in California, so if I had a million dollars I'd buy a one-room shack with an outhouse in the back yard and with the dollar left over I'd buy a soda.

I would definitely smile and laugh a lot. Then travel with my wife.
