Oh man, one 35 square test done and I am pooped. They really take some concentration.
-
Me and plaster of paris never seem to get along.
-
Oh oh. What have you done?
-
Maybe you were a plasterer in a past life and your soul is tired of it.
-
I am forever managing to break my moulds mid pour and getting plaster sploodging out everywhere and not mixing up enough volume. After about 6 separate batches yesterday I finally got a little better. Last pour was a good one with the right consistency
Still can't seem to get the moulds for batts that came with the wheel to fit ! arg, emailed skutt to see if they can help.

First one of three night shifts. Anybody got some good pdf's they might think I would enjoy reading? Or any articles really

Finally getting round to casting plaster batts for my wheel. Been putting it off for a long time because I know that plaster will end up where it should not be!

Only 1.5 hours to go I think I have read everything on this forum tonight haha.
-
Don't you hate that? Post more things people!!!

When I have 10 hours sitting in front of a computer with 3 hours containing any kind of work you get a lot of time to read... Still they pay me to teach myself ceramics so I am happy

Cracked open The Kiln Book and I am slowly becoming very confused amongst pressures, flow rates and BTU's
-
Same problem when I tried reading it. I really don't know much about gas kilns so I read the book first ignoring numbers. Then I went back and started to make sense of numbers on second go through.
-
The burner chapter is pretty dry.
-
It is complicated to work out the best pressure and sizes of every piece in the burner. Once I can grasp what everything does in relation to everything else and be able to see the numbers change as I change values of the hardware it should be plain sailing from there.

Edited a new video as I didn't feel like making pots the past few days.
-
Neat video High Bridge! Although I'd like it when people talk in their video... You could comment. You know what? I thought you were middle age, reading your comments here. Don't know why. Thank you for sharing! Tried to post a comment on YT but couldn't...
-
Thank you I am working towards maybe doing commentary but I only have the rubbish microphone on my camera. Researching into sound set ups is on my to-do. Yes I am only 24 hopefully plenty of years left to keep learning.
-
Sound (voice) would be great! And hey, you know already quite a lot....

Any comments on the challenge? Post them on here, would like a bit of feedback. Never really tried to set up much like this before and I forgot I was at work tonight so may have missed something out while trying to multi-task.

I want to thank you too, for all you did and all you will do for the challenge. Great idea!! Going back to my studio now, reflecting about the theme....

-
Yes, thanks High Bridge....

Anybody know if there is a way to save or draft posts?

I only have two as well Crusty, and one is a simple Raku kiln. Nothing wrong with just having two, or even one.
-
No need for more than 1 mode of firing. I just love kilns and how they work. Really interests me and I love fire.
-
*sniff* I only habs one... :'(
