Great workshop. I'm getting things organized so I can start experimenting with several of these processes. Thanks for the workshop

I agree that it was a great workshop - I learned a TON! And it was great to meet new people.

I love what I am doing. Very happy even with aches and pains that happen sometimes.

I am going to Kansas in 2 days for a workshop at Brackers. Then, I am going with matt to his conference in Spain in the mountains NW of Sevilla. I hope to visit a friend in Sevilla where I taught a raku workshop in 1995. Then in Nov. I go to Rome for 6 weeks for a residency, workshop and exhibition.

If you haven't left, and if you aren't in a rush, can you send me your book or dro it off. I could send you a payment via PayPal, if you have an account with them.

I wish you success with the workshops. Don't think I can do Rome in December since I have to do surgery again beginning of Dec. Too sad we can't meet!

  9. firing some raku slabs this morning and saggars this afternoon.

  10. From the album: forum discussions

I tried a technique I saw on youtube. Using a heat gun, which I already use on the outing of pot for the crackled surface, the inside walls stiffen enough to really puch pulling up and forming with great control.
  11. enjoying my improved throwing in the last couple of days. I am obligated to make a piece for a museum to replace a piece that was in the permanent collection, but was broken by visitors who were in the collection room. So, I am throwing on a larger scale than normal for me.

What's that with the improved throwing? Is it a new technique? Sorry about the broken collection piece. That's because people always have to touch things ;-)

I am replacing one of my own pieces. It was a large handbills /slip cast sculptural pieces I made in the 1980s. They want something of a similar size but representative of current work.

I love seeing Christmas decorations in different countries. I have a collection of international ornaments. How many people go to hardware stores to shop in Paris? At the Millennium we celebrated Christmas three times because we went to Armenia after celebrating on Dec. 25, then we celebrated on the traditional day in Armenia and then again because of the old calendar in Armenia. They ceremoniously slaughtered sheep for the feast at the churches. Armenia is the oldest Christian country predat...

Great firing all in all. Congrats. I like it that you change shape from round to angled, in spite of the fire likes round forms!
