Just thought I would let everyone know that I am still alive. We had a tornado across the street from us last night. It was turning east so it missed us but it did a lot of damage to a small town a mile from us. Denice

Shop is a disaster right now. The ice and snow melt outside found a way into the garage, and has frozen into 3" of mess. Shop has never had water in it before, and containers of bisqueware and bisqueware were setting on the floor and now is frozen in place after the heat being on for two days to try and thaw it. Will be vacuuming up water today. Lucky the GFCI was installed 3 years ago, as it did flip, Extension cord to wheel with circuit box was laying in the ice!

Best lightweight shelves for a wood kiln? My 18" x 18" silicon carbide shelves are a bit too heavy for my aging back...

Originally from Indianapolis, moved to Denver, and now in Moorhead, Minnesota. My grandparents and parents dabbled in slip ceramics and I recently inherited my grandparents kilns, unfinished projects, molds, and glazes. I very much want to start up this hobby and maybe turn it into a business.

Hello, I am setting up my studio in an attached one-car garage. In order to heat and cool the studio and provide some air-filtration, I want to open a vent to the house’s HVAC system and make an air return. To trap silica particles and other studio dust from damaging HVAC unit, I plan to use a filter with a high MERV rating in the air return. Any advice? Thank you very much!

Just started school as an art student two weeks ago, I'm hoping my third year in college will be better now that I'm studying to be a potter!

Putting my bisque firing off until at least the weekend. Started firing yesterday, but gas explosion caused loss of electric. Area soil is full of nat gas. . . one of reasons electric was off for 24 hrs.

Many years ago( I'm an old potter) I used to mix glycerin in my under glaze colours to make the decoration look like an underwater scene but unfortunately cant remember - and cant find anything about it in my notes - what percentage I used. Anyone any thoughts.
