Not sure using the hose is "Hillbilly" enough. I think to be considered that, you have to wash them on the rocks near the Ol' Fishin' Hole...

  3. sometimes, when I don't have time to actually work in the studio, I find myself wandering in there to stare at my finished greenware pieces or test tiles.

  4. got some new shelves. every time I put one side together the other falls apart. I managed to walk away before throwing the pieces down the street!

  5. From the album: Favorites

Set of butterfly bowls I just finished. I'm fairly pleased with how they came out even though they were over fired.
  6. my mugs were getting too dry to handle so I put them in my magic rehydration box. Now they are too wet to handle.

ugh not good- I use the zip lock tote boxes with a sealed lid.. I just mist a tad of water in them and my clay stays the same for literally months .. I guess you have potters plaster in yours?

So is your rehydration box the same as a wet box made with plaster? We had wet boxes at the college, but someone said that all the dried vessels put in there would not receive a handle without cracking around the handle. I've based my advice about rehydration

on their comments. :>( But thinking back 12 yrs., they did have sloppy techniques, which made our ideas clash.

No plaster. It's just an air tight Tupperware box I got from target.

I have a AIM 88, I have been happy with it but I would buy one with a built in pyrometer now.

It's a Paragon. I've fired it twice so far, once on slow and once medium. I bought it used and so far I'm pleased with it.

    wave Jar

I got the hang of it after just a few. I do put in an air hole. The hardest part for me is just closing it off right.
  12. Working with clay has made me a hoarder. I am always thinking, I could use that in the studio, or I could make a tool out of that and I don't throw it away.

I am often asked why I didn't build a larger studio. I tell them I would just fill it with racks, and things that could be made into a tools.

My husband has given up trying to guess what is a potential art supply. It is OK to see possibilities for use with clay.

  15. From the album: My nautical stuff

  16. From the album: My nautical stuff

  17. From the album: My nautical stuff

I throw the goblets in 2 parts then assemble them. They are some of my favorite pieces to make.
  18. From the album: My nautical stuff

The waves are more subtle on this piece. I coat the bottom in white engobe then carve the textured lines around the waves.
  19. From the album: My nautical stuff

another view of my nautical teapot. I threw the spout and handle and pieced them together. I got some cracks in the seams of the bottom cut out so I keep this one for decoration.
  20. From the album: My nautical stuff

another view of my nautical teapot. The top is a yo yo jar I threw in one piece without a bottom and then stacked after throwing the main body of the teapot.
  21. Thanks Jolie I'll put some more in the nautical folder
  22. From the album: Works in progress
