Daß ist so ganz toll. ^_^ Ich hoffe daß Sie sehr viele Spaß hatten. :3

  2. I've read all (I mean all) the Wizard of Oz books several times and always wondered how it looks... the house falling on the wicked witch. Now I know. Beautiful and gorgeous work Paul!
  3. There are no silly questions Celia. I either roll the still wet but already stiff piece in a bucket full of sand, or I spray water on the piece, take a handful of sand or marble powder or whatever and throw it at the piece. (You want to do that on the floor in the basement, not in the kitchen! Just kidding). I then either paddle the sand into the clay or I push it in lightly with the ball of my thumb. I also sometimes wet a sponge, push it into the sand and apply the wet sand on the greenware by means of the sponge. (You hold the sponge under streaming water and then you squeeze most of the water out again. You don't want to have a sponge thats too wet!).
  4. Thank you so much Marko! I love your choice of words (mysterious and haunting)! Yes, this piece and also the "No. 23" are pit - resp. barrel fired. The brown ones and the porcelain are el. fired to high temp. The legs are really a huge challange! I have approx. 7 second choices which are all right except of one or two of the legs. They warped in the fire. So out of say 10 made pieces, I can use only 4-6. I must find a better solution for the legs. I want them delicate, but then the fire isn't delicate with them.... sigh. Well, my motto is: never give up!
  5. My tripods.I find the inspiration for the Ceremonial Vessels with, among others, the Chinese wine drinking vessels of the IX sec. a.C. Zhou Dynasty Occidental and Zhou Oriental, the Qin- and the Han-Occidental Dynasty.
  6. Celia: no, it's not a competition. But thanks for the compliment anyway! I use sand on the greenware to get shadows and still more interesting surfaces. I use sand, grit, marble powder etc. quite often. Try it!
  7. I have been at the hand surgeons this morning and got an appointment for carpal tunnel surgery: September 25th. No working with clay for 3 month after surgery.... BooHoo

I'm overwhelmed! Thank you all so much for your kind words and your advice. I will keep you in the loop. September 25th I need all the prayers I can get from you. And to all who have to have surgery in the near future: all the best for a quick healing! Thinking of you too!

You can find spam links in new member profiles. One thing you can count with spammers, they evolve and adapt.

And a reminder, in dealing with the spam problem, we found that a lot of "guests" from the same IP codes from overseas looking through posts and profiles. Anything posted is scanned; so be careful about posting personal information.

  12. Those spammers are an aweful nuisance!! Go get some respectable work guys and you won't have enough spare time to get on our nerves!

Happy to hear that you are home safe Marcia. Let's try next year in K.C. to have more time together (not only in the booth). Do you have a story for the QOTW-thread?
