  1. Prez I understand you completely on the production process pushing away the inner peace. The longest I haven't worked with clay is 2 years, I was designing and building a house and studio and selling our old house. I was to busy to miss it and I knew I was going to end up with a full functioning potter studio not just stuck where there was some extra room. It was worth the wait! Denice
  2. Prez I have the exact same feelings and thoughts as you when it involves clay. I have been stock piling coiled work with Indian designs on them for the last two years. I was thinking my husband could open a internet business and keep busy selling them when he is retired. But I have grown weary of them, I need to take a break. Mark C. found me a great deal on a electric wheel, so I am heading a different direction for awhile. I have dabbled in many different art forms through out my life, clay is the only one that gives me inner peace. Denice
  3. Love it, Love it, Love it. Reminds of a geo cut in half a wonderful intricate pattern revealed. Denice
  4. I just put a nice size coiled pot in my drying cabinet which is now full. My work table needs to be cleaned covered with clay dust and crumblies, my other work table is covered with glazed pots I unloaded from a firing recently. Mark C found a Brent C wheel on E Bay for me to buy so now I need to sell it my kick wheel locally. I hope I can find someone who will love it as much as I do, I can't kick it up anymore to the speed it needs to be. Denice
  5. Like you I have a TV that I watch movies for shows that I have seen before. I listen and don't have to watch, I also have a boom box that I play when I am tired of the television. On the weekends when my husband is in his workshop, we tune it to the same oldies station and rock on. If I don't have a environmental companion I hear all of the pops and bangs the house is making and my house makes some loud noises that worry me. Denice
  6. I am also a visual learner, I was partially deaf when I was very young and learned how to speak by watching people talk. My hearing was fixed when I was 4 years old but by then my brain had been wired to be a visual learner. When I was in college I had to write down everything the professor said because I had to actually see the words. When I read a book I take notes on parts that I want to remember. You might try this approach and see it it works for you. I was a okay student in high school but once I figured out how I learned I made straight A's in college. Denice
  7. A nice size coiled bowl with black stylized Anazai designs on white clay. Didn't quite get in finished today. Sorry no photo. Denice

Love your contemporary style and it looks like you have some nice glazes. Denice
  9. Had my first MS relapse in 10 years Saturday the whole right side of my body went numb.  My hands still work  so I can still stumble out to my studio and still work.  I guess it doesn't take too much to make me happy.   Denice

I smell most of the time unless I need to go somewhere. It's okay to be a little stinky. Showers are hard for me as well due to my skin. Just be smelly! It will be okay!

Very sorry to hear you are going through this set back. A temporary, short term, short lived and momentary problem; that I believe will be resolved quickly.

  10. Working on a replacement top for the bubbler fountain I made a few years ago.   My husband dropped it working on the pump system that had quit working.    Denice

  13. I have a paragon that I bought used in the early 70's, a few years ago I had trouble with my kiln sitter. I pulled it off the kiln and took it to my repair guy, he said I had one of the original kiln sitters and was wondering how old the kiln was. It is still being used for bisque firings. Denice
  14. Love the tadpole plate and what is that glaze that you loved?

Great piece as usual can't wait to see it glazed. But I love seeing work in the leather hard stage you can see much more detail. Denice
  16. I agree with Cavy awesome! Denice
  17. I love the way the fins on the fish are curled it looks like they are really in water. Denice
  18. I also like the new shape especially the ones that curve around. The round pots will probably be your best sellers until customers get use to the new shape. Denice
  19. I love the spiral pattern and the colors, it does look round even I'm glad you told me it is oval. Denice

TJR I thought I would let you know they have moved the warning south of us. I'm not really worried about myself just everyone else. I have a basement to hide in some people have no where to go. A large tornado the other night north of Wichita was mostly in no mans land. But it took out three farms and killed 1500 cattle. All 3 families lost their lively hood, no one insures cattle. De...

TJR That particular fountain is Cone 1 Majolica and low fire red terracotta that is fired to it's max temp. to make it vitrified and hold up to freezing weather. The spills and moldings are Cone 6, I worked on the low fire glaze and clay combination development for 6 months. I wanted it vitrified and not crazing which is what Majolica does. I have done 3-3' and 2-6' murals also w...
