Hi Rhernan and welcome to the forum. Your question would be better placed in the Studio Operations and Making Work section rather than here in the Status Updates. This section is more for just casual comments about what's going on with people and their clay activities. Pres, the moderator of the Studio Operations section made a wonderful battery powered hand held extruder from an electric caulking gun, this is the link to it.

Mold making for me is not as immediate as wheel throwing. I make lots of mugs, each a little different even thought they start with same amount of clay. Making all the same would be boring on the wheel, but mold making not so much if I could get through the first part to the second part. However, I am not really interested in going with all the slip casting process.

Thank you for informing us,  he was my inspiration to work in Cone 6 clay and glazes.   After I read his first book in the early 70's I felt that Cone 6 oxidation was the future of pottery.     Denice

They are the chalice and paten sets. They are used as a presentation to ordinands into the ministry with high community service, academic achievement and religious commitment. It is called the Hickman award. I have them posted in last years blog postings. My sets are completed with the Order of St. Luke logo, stamped on the plates which are actually larger than the standard paten that was used with the wafers for communion, but of late the churches are going to the broken bread communion and intinction. Intinction requires a wider bowl on the chalice to allow for dipping of the wafer or bread. Almost too wide to be drinkable, but not quite.

We are home! Got in last night at 2:30 after the drive from BWI. Weather last night was icy coming out, but as we got closer to home the temps rose, and it was a balmy 36 when we got in. This morning was 38, and all is good. They are looking for 50 by end of the week!
