Firing another glaze load tonight. Dun dun dun!!!

My house/studio was burned to the ground in the Valley Fire that started very close to my home. Our street was the first to go and my area is totally destroyed. 75% of the homes in my little town are gone. I had over 300 pots ready for fairs and of course, all the pottery we use daily. I’m devastated. I’m hoping I’ll be able to recover some pots that didn’t break/melt, and maybe my kilns? Wheel? The evacuation order hasn’t been lifted yet. Gallery backed out on me. Stings quite a bit, but I guess that means I can sell those pieces on my own. I'm a pretty grumpy guinea right now, though.

Abandoning all my glaze work, and sticking with one glaze. Work harder on improving the aesthetics of my pots in combination with this glaze. Sell pots with this glaze. Once I feel I understand it. I will test until I find another glaze that goes with it, and then repeat.

Yay, I went to my first craft market today. My wife and I had a great time. There was only about 15 vendors, but I was the only potter. I sold almost everything and even got some commissions. I want to thank you all, for your kindness, acceptance and support. Along with all your great advice I was able to feel confident that I could do this. Some of you awesome folk have worried about Guinea, but I'm alive. Been a bit too sore for clay lately, but I've been drawing a lot. I have lots of new ideas for clay stuff, too, when my joints feel up to it. I wanna get funky!

This just might be the year I wish I had air-conditioning. However, my highest power bill,this yr. is $27.00.

Found a new glaze I like, that matches my base glaze. A deep red with speckles of black where it breaks. Also switching to frost porcelain so lots of new changes. Testing TIME!
