Still looking for a production potter, had my latest no show for work today... Wondering why so many people love clay, but don't seem to like working with it professionally?

Thinking about starting private lessons from inside my home. My health is crashing fast, and pottery is getting harder every day, but I have a lot of knowledge to share. I think I could take a couple students under my wing.

That moment when the cone 10 glaze firing is well underway, you are cleaning up the glazing table, and suddenly there is an out-of-place container of low-fire glaze sitting in front of you...

My husband was on TV yesterday for the NSF news conference in brownsville, Tx re; the discovery of Gravitational Waves. He works at the Center for Gravitational Waves Astronomy. He is still very excited by the discovery.

I am a newbie and just bought my first kiln. I am getting ready to make test tiles from the various clays I'll be using.. Does anyone have a favorite test tile design they like that can be hung on a pegboard after the finished product is achieved? Photo appreciated and thanks for your feedback!

I'm discovering that airbrushing with underglazes is pretty cool...having the air compressor kick-in at 4am, awakening the wife...not so much

Ah the joys of spraying glazes in a winter storm outside in 36 degree weather. What a life! Ceramics!

Getting back into the swing of things, finally! Did a bunch of small treat trays, using my new slab roller-felt good to do "something--anything" LOL.

Peace to all and planet Earth.

Finally got my website back up and running. Loads of work to do yet, but it's a start. Pretty big victory for a guy pathologically deficient at web design.

Woohoo, my new L&L kiln arrived, and is it ever pretty. Very well engineered, and packed very carefully. I can't wait to set it up and use it.

Dear friends. Thank you all very much for your prayers and positive thoughts. I love you!! Surgery went well but this time I had problems with the anesthesia and so I am not really up to par yet. But also this will pass. I am looking forward: now that I had surgery on both hands, everything can only get better. I am glad that I am not a squid... haha. See you soon again... Hugs

I am putting my Bailey table top slab roller together and have to rearrange my studio to accommodate it, which is energizing me out of the tail end of a slump I have been plagued with. Clay is good for the health!

Drove 60 miles to pick up some Wollastonite, could not get rid off bubbles from Whiting or Dolomite. Be funny if I open the kiln and there are still bubbles >;(

Having a dabble into changing firing schedules to get rid of bubbles. Tried a slow cool with no luck, still just as many. Tried a hold at 900c for 20 mins after reading that is the temp dolomite and whiting have finished gassing. Excited to see if that has made any changes.
