  1. Just watched the DVD from Ceramic Arts Daily...Jason Bige Burnett's "The Graphic Pot". I can definitely recommend it...and for anyone from Colorado, it may not be what you think it is :)

  2. So I got busy and made three sinks for a house I am renovating. This past week I loaded them up and bisque fired them. One of the three survived the bisque firing. The good thing is I know how to efficiently make two more. Must allow more drying time for 1/2 inch thick ware this time..

  4. Just so you know... a sharpened needle tool, when knocked off a countertop, can put a hole in one's foot. No need to try this for yourself, trust me :)

  5. 38deg C in the shade, keeping me out of my corrugated iron clay shed.

  6. Had the "exclusive" pyjama party New Years celebration. Drank wine and watched Marco Polo on Netflix, and analyzed for porcelain, and tile work. #claynerd(face palm)

  7. Back from Cuba! Brrrr. I'm cold!

  8. Going steelhead fishing midday today 5 minutes away-need to be outside in the sun a bit.

  9. Now i feel like I should be cleaning the studio -.-

  10. Cleaning the studio. I should kick the person who made such a mess. Oh. Wait. :)

  11. Cleaning the studio after the holidays and working on making a set of tongs for Obvara that won't damage the surface.

  12. Testing Testing Testing - Saving up lots of bisque fired pieces for when I finally get my testing done I can make some beautifully glazed pots.

  14. Working night shift on Christmas... Good thing I brought my new John Britt book :D and I now have a years subscription to ceramics monthly.

  15. Love it when a glaze comes out completely different than it is supposed to. Not sure if it was the different clay or I didn't apply it on the same way.

  16. Finally, after many ,many practice sessons , I finally threw a big bowl that looks like it should.. weight is between 12 to 14 lbs with a diameter of 17.5'' ... practice is paying off

  17. I wonder if I leave extra cookies and milk out for Santa if he'll bring along some elves to clean up the studio. *big sigh*

  20. I am glaze depressed. I can't find any commercial glazes I like, and I can't seem to find a simple glaze to mix on my own = (.

  21. Good results on our last glaze firing- Porcelain makes glazes come to life, very vivid color.. we even made some slip to test it on other clay bodies, results were just like the body itself.

  22. From last Wednesday's show I received a small order /commission......(so it starts, not sure I'm ready).

  23. I did a little 5 hour show (dislike) on Wednesday. I made enough to pay rent!!! ( I dislike less now)

  24. Getting packed and ready for my sale this weekend. Does anyone else get stage fright for these things?

  25. Bisque firing a load hoping to get some last minute work in before friday's show!
