For the third year in a row, my "Three's a Charm" set of Horsehair Raku pots has been accepted by KVIE, Sacramento's local PBS TV station for their annual Fall Art Auction!

Finally graduated up to being able to throw 5 lbs with ease! Feeling accomplished now that I'm breaking into to larger pieces, which has been on my to-do list forever.

Finished a bisque of patens, firing was weird. So checked out the elements with the ohm meter. Top element is dead. Have backups, will put in before glaze load.

Hi All y’All…Just wanted to let you know that I’m going in for hand surgery in a couple of hours to fix a trigger finger and maybe another potential problem call Dupuytrens Contracture…I’m expecting all to go well, but may not be at the keyboard for a couple of days and the clay for about a month...we’ll see…

Started a firing last night, something told me no right. I turned it off and waited til it cooled but, not before I noticed top coil was not firing. Later found that the SC-20 fuse on the right side on top layer was blown! No replacements until this morning with a walk to Ace Hardware. Firing now

I am a ceramic student, just finished my 2nd semester, so I am definitely a newbie. I am working on a bachelors of fine art with an emphasis in ceramics. I like hand building but want to develop wheel skills, too.

Just got notification that "Another Horsehair Raku Trio" was accepted for this year's PBS station art auction. They were happy to get the new contribution since last year's went over so well.

Friday glaze day again two loads to glaze and load.last week the cones fell over in small kiln at about cone 8-I fired by the  seat of my pants with great turn out. 

I was just reminded how fragile bone-dry greenware is when I was transporting a stack of berry bowls from my studio to my garage to load into the kiln...broke 2. Will open the kiln this afternoon to unload 40 pieces and get ready for glazing and horsehair Raku...

been trying some mold making. Think I prefer the wheel.

In Honolulu this week. We get on cruise ship on Saturday.
