Today is my anniversary of pottery three years now. I posted an image on the gallery with more thoughts for anyone who wants to read it. Thanks to everyone here for all your wonderful help, thoughts, and support. Without you all I wouldn't be a potter.

Built glaze storage shelves and assembled a third wheeled rack yesterday. Muahahaha. STORAGE FOR DAYS!!

Ordered a 3D printer kit. So I will assemble it and make a clay stamp. Probably take about a week to get it.

I've been chomping at the bit to get outdoors, clear my creative head...so, after a few delays, my wife was sick (better not go yet) and so on and so forth I finally made it out on the road at 3am Wednesday morning (insert happy face here). The road was empty and conditions were clear, the drive up to lovelock was easy as 6 hour drives go and the gnawing pain on the left side of my lower back was tolerable. I checked into the casino at 9 in the morning and they had a room ready right away...

Back to the drawing board. I fired a kiln to ^6 with a pyro barin my sitter. New sitter, new everything, except infinite switches (no long can get), but it never got there. Brand new elements. It was firing fine till last nite. It's still cooling. Going to fire in my small kiln to finish an order. And work on the big kiln. I will fix it or try basket weaving in my padded room.

Yup. I just wonder if the weather had anything to do with it. We had some very heavy downpours Saturday when I was firing. No lighting. the barometric pressure was at 30.30. The humidity at 84%. Guess it could be that my kiln was, a bit under the weather, LOL.
I fired the small kiln today @^6 and it went well. Nice day. I am going to fire another load in the big kiln tomorrow ^6. small load. If it doesn't go well I am going to check all my wiring.

Potter's Council Peeps: when are the deadlines to submit photos for the calendars?

All lights are up. And I didn't kill myself. Thank you Mark C for the lead to LED king. Great lights and easy to install.

Why can't I get my profile picture to show up?

I am wondering about glazing in a cold garage ( 27^) The bisque is cold, the glazes are cold. Does this affect the outcome? or is it of no concern

You should probably heat the pottery up very slow. I remember a potter friend I had many moons ago. He had a studio the size of an airplane hanger. Anyway, he had a ceremonial platter he had to fire, but it was below freezing and he was in a hurry. He could have waited, but he didn't. The plate blew into a million pieces.

worked on the studio 'til 9 last night. A bit achy today. Made the cart for my slabs while working on the slab roller. One overhead storage can get done when my husband comes up over Spring break. I don't want to do it while no one is around..just in case I fall off a ladder. So maybe I'll throw some saggars today.

yesterday was 57 but warmer in the sun. Worked outside cutting up sheet rock out the back of my van for my slabs. Much easier to move smaller pieces around.

Averaging 60 hours now in the studio a week. Loaded a full 10 cubic foot glaze today and trimmed a bunch of bowls and mugs. Studio opening party for friends on Saturday, then off to karaoke
