Just started the kiln for the third time this week. Second glaze batch. Man am I beat!

Yea, I finally got my studio organized. It's much more efficient now.

Must. Mix. Glazes. I have failed at training my buckets to do their own mixing.

On my way out of the studio tonight I suddenly had a brilliant idea of a way to move things around, have more storage AND more floor space! I measured and everything would fit so of course I started heaving around filing cabinets and bookcases at 12 am. I neglected to move my shelf of drying pottery first and with a huge crash something fell straight on the top shelf, breaking a mug I can make again and a dinosaur piggy bank for my son that has taken me hours to make. :(

You know you are on the wheel too early in the morning if you dip your sponge into your coffee rather than the water bucket #JustSayin

Those spammers are an aweful nuisance!! Go get some respectable work guys and you won't have enough spare time to get on our nerves!

had a great fast efficient trip to Houston. Husband got a visa to Brazil at the Consulate, I dropped off about 20 pieces at my gallery including some large raku slabs and picked up a new thermal couple, a rounded pair of raku tongs for obvara, and some porcelain. left Monday and were back on Tues. by 7. About 750 miles round trip. Took the dogs with us.

Am I the only one to receive offers to give a one to one free workshops to total strangers?

Made a step toward the second Community Challenge...it is good for me to have a focus, something I had been finding fuzzy lately.

Didn't sleep well last night. All those bowls in the studio kept yelling, "Trim me, trim me!' ...and so began the pre-dawn saga (at least after a cup of coffee).

I just got accepted to the largest show I've ever applied to. I'm freaking out a bití ¼í¾‰í ¼í¾‰

This morning I worked 3 hours cleaning my studio from A-Z. Everything spick and span now. I just wonder how long this will last though.....

reglazed or touched up some of my pieces from my "disastrous" Saturday. It wasn't really all that bad. The pyrometer worked this morning during a firing. I only lost one piece and that was old. I wasn't upset about it.

It is time to take my newly acquired underglazes and see if spraying/blending is everything it is cracked up to be...why not, nothing say 'summer fun' like a couple of hours in a respirator mask, right?
-
Took the hammer to a bunch of runny glazed mugs. Felt great!
-
Off to a slow start for the late spring...stomach virus kept me off the wheel for a few days and 'vegetating' on the sofa...starting to feel human again though, thank goodness!

waiting for my kiln to cool..... glaze firing with my first tiles!!

"Sky" mug is out of the kiln. Just need to get camera attached so I can show it off

Phew! First car load of studio 'stuff' gone to the re-cycling/land fill. Now, what to do with stuff another potter might want?

The explosion in my bisque kiln this morning scared me so bad...'thought it was a gun shot & was just about to report it to the police.

sitting at work...wishing I was muddy.
