Pleased with myself--had a good time peddling my wares at the First Friday Art Walk, Portland, Maine, a sidewalk event held on the main drag near the fine art museum. No registration fee, no tent required, close-in parking, & I had a helper!

Holy cannoli----my Termal-lites, which I have waited for 6 months to come from Germany, are now at Bailey's!

OK, the computer says i do not want Termal-lites, i want Thermal lights and only that! so what is this?
-
Just a typo.

Well, hot diggity dog--I have received an invite from the Ceramics Art Network's magazine, Ceramics Monthly, to write a short article w/pics for the Quick Tip series. It will be about my simple "works for me" inventory/storage system.

Congrats!

Nice! Can't wait to see it!

I like the "banner" up top--the graphic affect & pallet is kinda "soothing" and intriguing simultaneously-nice vibe.

Lee is feeling rejuvenated----freakin' about time!! When the art center w/the anagama kiln suddenly closed, it threw me for a loop--didn't see quite how much until I realized I was doing much of nothing!

Congrats on the new studio build--looks so exciting..and BIG!!! Looks like Dog approves, as well.

Oh mosa has found herself numerous spots which she calls her own. Really if I could just take all my noisy, dusty work outside that would be much better for her!
The studio is good sized! 3456 total square feet including a covered parking space for big sprinter van, dedicated packing/receiving/finished goods room, kitchen, bath, woodshop, kiln room, glazing room, spray booth room, main working area, and an office.

Dream building! Beautiful views. And that dog looks to be one of life's greatest treasures.

Happy Joyous and Free, and celebrating Independence Day! I put some pics in the LeeU Anagama Fire album in the gallery.

Just a thank you to whoever mentioned American Science & Surplus as a source for many cool & useful gizmos for ceramics--maybe Pres?--anyway, got this great little manual spinner whisk to bring my glazes & wax back to life!! Finds like this really make my day. ..no excuse now to not keep glazing the current batch!

What's on my workbench? Nothing...becasue it's all in the kiln!! (Finally). Yee Haw.
-
Is that a N.H. Yeehaw or a Texas Yeehaw? Trying to gauge your enthusiasm.

Pilfered from my sister. She says it all the time. We are fom New Jersey -both of us lived for years in NYC--both moved to Virginia at different times (survival-long story) and while she is still there, I am in NH. So, long story long, I have no clue where she got it from. If you catch me saying Howdy, I pilfered that one from my daughter. No connections to Texas. High enthusiam--breaking out of a bad spell...and...just cracked the lid and all is right with the world (tho it's mostly only a bisque).

Way to go, Lee! I could have said the same thing Monday, but I opened the kiln and now all 46 pots, bowls etc. are back on the workbench awaiting their destiny...

The challenge to Self these days is my old nemesis--lack of patience. So, to push myself into either a state of growing frustration or a state of growing acceptance, I am making myself replay old scenes in the hidden objects game June's Journey. That is a game that requires mega patience, on steroids. Why? you ask. Because I let myself actually run out of clay--all three of my main types. I ordered some, and they are out of the one I need the most and need the fastest! Go figure. Another lesson in patience, coming right up. (Yeah, they are getting in it and shipping it soon.)

I bought clay a couple of days ago, I thought I was out. I looked at the companies web site and it wasn't listed, freaked me out. I had tried several clays for throwing and this one worked the best for me. Turned out they had a new website and the web designer didn't include it. When I was making space for the clay I found two bags that were covered with mold, I bought it around Christmas. Never had clay mold this fast, using it first. Denice

Finished my 2019 detail budget and I can retain my helper who keeps me current with inventory/spreadsheets/photos. Yay me! (Of course I haven't been to a movie in 2 years, don't have TV and almost never buy clothes, but, hey, well worth it! ) Now I'm setting up my 'to do' calendar-hope I can stick to it this year.

Got half a kiln load. "Time to make the donuts!" (I wonder how many members are too young to remember that fun commercial?)

Hi-I can't lift & carry much over 20 lbs. myself. When 50 lbs+ of clay shows up at my front door, I have to get it from the ground up the steps, up over a deep door lip, into the house, through the house, down steps, down another door drop of 3-4", and onto a back porch. I bought a wheeled dolly-type gizmo called an UpCart---it smoothly goes up and down STAIRS! Rolls on specially configured wheels--worth every penny, and it folds down flat and short.
