  1. contractor finishes today. I can get back to work. The dogs are on their own I I 'll be in the studio.

  3. Delay on making small traveling Raku kiln. Flashing went to protect my citrus trees. They are looking like the tin man. Must get some other things done first. New gallery in Montana.

  4. delivered new work to Houston. Got a call that one had already sold before they were displayed! Yay!

  5. doing as much prep for firing as I can inside. Very hot outside. I

  6. done firing sag gars for my show. Next is Rake slabs, the obvara.

  7. down in Tx. waiting for an offer on our house. Hope to leave for Montana Thursday.

  8. Driving back to Montana again. This time with my husband and 2 dogs. Looking forward to all of us together for the summer.

  9. Dumping rain today 2+ inches so far this morning. Hoping for a good raku firing day on Friday.

  10. Dying to barcelona today to join 10 international artists for a collaboration for 2 weeks. ..how good can it get! one of my favorite cities!

  11. enjoyed a successful workshop at Brackers Good Earth Clays in Lawrence, Kansas. Two days of five firing processes and demos.

  12. enjoying a mellow weekend together with my mate. I love sleeping with the windows open and the fresh mountain air breezes whispering across our heads. sleeping under a light blanket with our two little old dogs.Love being back in Montana.

      No. Red Lodge is in Montana and the same town I live in.

      not the perfect one. we have 3 years til Matt retires.

      Made the right choice on location. Great town, lots of friends. Have a show already, invitation to help establish a studio in Billings, lots of fun.

  16. enjoying my improved throwing in the last couple of days. I am obligated to make a piece for a museum to replace a piece that was in the permanent collection, but was broken by visitors who were in the collection room. So, I am throwing on a larger scale than normal for me.

      I am replacing one of my own pieces. It was a large handbills /slip cast sculptural pieces I made in the 1980s. They want something of a similar size but representative of current work.

  17. enjoying the peaceful snowfall outside while sitting by the fireplace in a camping chair. Furniture should come tomorrow with the bulk of my studio.

      They seem to be adjusting well. They have the whole man cave basement.if our container ever shows, there will be a bed down there.

      Glad you are enjoying your new digs. Watching it snow is very calming. Our snow is about gone due to unseasonably warm weather. We had Christmas rain, not snow...

      It snowed yesterday and last night. Unloaded in sunny 19 degree F. weather.

  19. Evelyne joined us yesterday for the Obvara firing at La Meridiana. It was very nice to meet her in person. she operated the door of the kiln as we pulled the pieces.

  20. even with the air conditioner on in my studio, the sweat was running into my eyes. Finished trimming and went into the house.

      Marcia and Mark are in Texas, which is literally the frying pan of the USA. I would pretty much die if I lived there, haha! Their summers are routinely 40-45c every year. It's sadly getting that way here in eastern Washington state, too... blech!

      We have an excessive heat warning here for the next 2 days. Fortunately my place stays cool. Have you considered adding a swamp cooler? My family uses those in airplane hangers and they work great.

  21. Faced a new learning curve for my airmen. Need thicker glaze.

  22. fast trip to San Antonio to get clay and pick up pieces from a show. Hope is can be a one day trip.

  23. feeling liberated. I gave away 5 heavy boxes of decades worth of ceramic magazines to aspiring artists and teachers in the area. Teachers love having magazines i their classrooms!
