Single fire on custom porcelain clay recipe. Single fired, total ramp time 3.2 hours. Cone 5 peak temp. Notice the empty catcher. The recipe is simple, it is the clay producing the results.

small pieces of sponge holds up the rippling edge of this shallow bowl. found that the slip with red iron oxide had dried up so i did not brush color onto this one. gotta make more colored slip!

Blending various blends of raw clay to set levels of titanium, iron, and calcium. The goal was to produce purple in oxidation: without the use of stains. A band of rutile was placed in the center, and Temmoku glazed over.
