g-bus 3
Getting ready to order some new elements for my old Skutt 1027 that I've been working on rehabilitating. Had planned on ordering from Euclid but then came across these guys at kilnelements.com. They're asking $44/set with pins and connectors vs. $191 + about $18 for connectors at Euclid, and closer to $300 everywhere else. Haven't been able to find hardly any info on them so curious if they're of comparable quality. Thanks in advance for any input!

Min 3,453
So, top and bottom plus 4 middle makes 6 @ 44 for a total of 264. So wouldn't that make Euclids cheaper? Please correct me if I'm wrong here, using Canadian math
Mark C. 4,880
If I recall Skutt sells them for around 300$ for the set of 6 as well.Shipping is all within US for you which is a plus.
neilestrick 4,618
Yeah, you're reading that wrong. They're $44 each, not per set. $44 probably wouldn't cover the cost of the wire.
g-bus 3
Thanks for the clarification! Looks like Euclids it is.
oldlady 2,811
i put Euclids in my L&L several years ago. they did not last as long as the originals from L&L and had to be replaced.
fergusonjeff 45
Also keep in mind that the Euclid elements are not bent at the corners like the ones from skutt. The pre-bent corners make installation easier and you are sure things are spaced correctly. Euclid was very nice when I returned them.
Mark C. 4,880
The original Manufactures elements fit better-Not sure why one would get them from another source unless that was the only way to get them. Just read the post above this one to see why you should order from your kiln manufacture. My skutt element fit like a glove last year when I installed it.
g-bus 3
Ok, guess you guys have convinced me to spring for the legit ones. Was hoping to save a few bucks, but sounds like it's prob worth the money for the longevity and ease of install. When I bought the kiln the guy told me he had a set of elements for it but not with him and he'd send them to me. Several attempts at contact and 2 years later still no elements. Shocker. Thanks again for the input.
Mark C. 4,880
Sometimes saving a few bucks costs you a few bucks extra in the long run.I think this may be the case.
g-bus 3
Yep, a lesson I've learned all too well. If anyone has any suggestions of where to order from, or if I should just go straight through Skutt I'd appreciate it. Thanks again.
Mark C. 4,880
Skutt is the place I ordered from quick shipping and no hassles-I think these are fair traded items like no discount from other sources? not 100% on this check it out.
