  1. First time firing a gas kiln and it was a 6ft by 6ft beast. Not the best idea to start firing at 01:30 feeling tired now.

      You are in for a lonng stretch of kiln-baby-sitting. I normally figure 7 hours to Cone 10 once reduction has started.

      This was posted after the fact of firing :D luckily there was three of us so I did manage a few 20min naps through the night. Started at 1:40am and cone 8 was flat down about 1pm. Probably a little slow to begin with but being cautious is good to start with. No idea how the reduction went as I am still not sure what reduction is. Has gasses igniting out the bottom peep so fingers crossed!
