  1. My wedding ring survived a batch of stoneware in the Peter Pugger...I always knew of my attraction to clay, but this takes it too far, methinks :)

  2. Made a slip from my new clay formula and cast my 12 x16 arched tile mold yesterday. Popped it out of the mold and hour later and it is still perfectly flat this afternoon. First time that has happened.

  4. Bisque load this week, glaze load next week. I've been trying some new designs so I'm very excited for this round of firing.

  5. Going to Argentona today to see a museum of traditional pottery. Then two ceramic artists will show us their studio and the lunch on the coast and home. Looking forward to a relaxing day.

  6. Helping a fellow potter (in return for free firing) -- kiln floor and bag wall, cut posts from brick, hung new lights. Salt fire next weekend.

  14. My niece and I were playing, "If I Had a Million Dollars". I said I would give her a private performance by her favorite band. She said she would give me a lifetime supply of glazes. Awwwwwwwww.

  20. still cleaning off the wood fired pieces from pre-NCECA conference. Got a totally black piece in wood and a light white with a touch of tan in the wood-soda kiln. similar small sculptures. Interesting.

  21. was @ coop for a short period today, i threw 6 somewhat strict cylinders. destined to be mugs, i fumbled the ware board crashing all six, and had 0% dissapointment!!!!!! i cut what was cutable to check and im doing OK!!!!

  23. Ordered technical grade/s of kaolins and one ball clay. Iron content is 0.08 which translates to super white porcelain.
