  1. We're up in the North Country in our little hovel. I'm getting the new studio site ready, putting in a garden, and working on the hovel. There will be no clay until fall, so I'll have to live vicariously through the forum.

      Your glazes look fantastic! Love that "mother of pearl" glaze with the shimmery color to it.

      I like the transparent crystal effects you have going on. Very subtle but enjoyable to look at closely.

  4. Woohoo, my new L&L kiln arrived, and is it ever pretty. Very well engineered, and packed very carefully. I can't wait to set it up and use it.

      I have been very happy with my L&L in my classroom. It fires as quick as I need it to, and as accurately as it has to be.

  5. Fianlly figured out the problem with my little test kiln. It was kicking the circuit breaker when I turned on the upper element. First I thought it was the circuit breaker, so I changed that. Next time I turned on the upper lelment, shower of sparks. Eventually I traced the problem to the clamping device that connects the element to the switch wire. I'd replaced the original with a replacement from Euclid. Unfortunately the new clamp was an inline clamp rather than the crosswise cla...

      clamp, and the washer that stopped the clamp from touching the jacket had a big hole in it.
