Looks like we all had some good and bad times with the weather. But one thing that makes it all better is what we do with clay and glazes. Having a better day today everyone.

I now have enough dry bisque to fill the small kiln 2 1/2 times. So I think I'm going to power through and make enough bisque to fill the BIG ONE, which always gives me 4-5 glaze loads in the little one. Getting stocked up for my October studio show.

It's been 90-100 degrees here. I might have an hour or two in the mornings of 70's in the garage.

working on a few small tray forms for press molds

Do you have to have special clay for a press mold?

getting finished up on a commission, and getting some work fired and new ideas developing in the studio. Planning on working on Color development for my foil sagar firings. Material is at the post office for building my big raku kiln. Need to make bigger pieces for my galleries.

I am afraid if I use porcelain I would accidentally put in my puugger with stoneware. And that would be very very bad or very very good, LOL.
What porcelain do you use?

Unloaded a kiln of goblets for my aunts Agape youth retreat, mowed the lawn and then watched movies with my wife and brother Booter the rest of the night. We made vegan nice-cream. Hope you had a safe holiday also.

It is amazing how easy it is to make good pots when your only working with 1 set of glazes. You can see the colors and things happening as you make it. Rather nice.

trying out my rebuilt little Paragon kiln to cone 6 today. I usually just use it to bisque but the electrician said it can go to 6 but the elements won't last as long. I wonder what that means exactly....

Unless the electrician checked the ohms on the elements. And the condition. I don't think he could make that assessment.

I have a A82B Paragon kiln that I fire to ^6 without any problems. It has actually saved me when my big kiln went down.

Well, I finally managed to throw a form over the 12" tall mark. Managed to do it without it wobbling and spiraling. Just think, in another two years I might actually be good at throwing.

Congrats. that you throw porcelain over 12" is amazing for not having much time and experience.

my dog dislocated her hip/femur. 2 weeks of nursing her back to walking. Poor dog. She is tough.

I'm so sorry Marcia. Our dog Booter had a tumor removed from his lung 2 wk ago. He is back to being the fun buddy I know and love.
I hope your dog heals well.
