three feet tall? wow WOW WOW! You have to stop saying you are not good at this stuff. you obviously are VERY good.
  9. michael cardew originated this bird. i went to Seth's in 2002 and saw it everywhere. was lucky enough to buy his sample at a workshop here. had to have it glaze fired and it came out with a clear gloss glaze not at all like the originals. have always loved the design, with the two birds, too. good job!

  13. From the album: glazed for blandy 2015

four foot long shelves supported on adjustable wire framework allows wind to pass through the display without knocking it down. can never trust the weather. this shelf support system has been through many high winds with no ill effects. neighboring displays have crashed to the ground because they resist the wind. tall pots on flimsy stands will go over, but not the entire 2 foot by 4 foot unit. shelves are 12, 16 and 20 inches wide by 4 feet. cut from half a 3/4 inch sheet of birch plywood. they will be painted white this year. i have 4 of these, giving me 48 linear feet of shelving from 12 to 20 inches wide. lots of space. wish it were higher.

this glaze was reviewed by an expert who said it is a strange recipe with almost no clay. it is a cordovan leather color in my opinion.
