  1. enjoying my improved throwing in the last couple of days. I am obligated to make a piece for a museum to replace a piece that was in the permanent collection, but was broken by visitors who were in the collection room. So, I am throwing on a larger scale than normal for me.

  2. My uncle's coming over to wire the house up right so I can fire my Fred! Hooray! ♥

  3. Loaded my first glaze load into the kiln this morning. Looking forward to the thrill of opening it tomorrow.

  4. Glazing for two shows and a wholesale order

  5. Fred, my beloved little firebox, you are gonna be the death of me. ARGH. #firingtrouble

  6. Filling gallery order and making stock for 2 fall shows

  7. Kiln loaded with a whopping three pieces and a buncha kiln posts for filler. This is my first bisque in the garage...I'm mother-henning it hardcore!

  8. Happiness is a squeeky clean studio. Yay ME!!!

  9. I am now an official member of Potters' Council and I put up my artist portfolio. Next Saturday is the opening of a show I'm in (with 7 other potter/sculptors) at a gallery on the Mendocino Coast. And I just added listings to my etsy page. I'm finally feeling like an integrated part of the greater pottery world instead of going it by my lonesome.

  10. !st bisgue after taking a break after big show. Back to clay again-Fall production is starting like it or not

  11. Spent the weekend covered in clay, just the way I like it. :)

  12. Well, it's time to get back to work! I wish I didn't have such a negative feeling about having to wedge all that clay, thorough...I have been procrastinating going back in the studio because of that! My priority now is to work on an attitude adjustment!

  13. Abandoning all my glaze work, and sticking with one glaze. Work harder on improving the aesthetics of my pots in combination with this glaze. Sell pots with this glaze. Once I feel I understand it. I will test until I find another glaze that goes with it, and then repeat.

  16. Back from a trip with my family. I'm staring at a huge pile of suitcases and my hands are literally aching to throw because I had a million amazing ideas while I was away!

  17. Yay, I went to my first craft market today. My wife and I had a great time. There was only about 15 vendors, but I was the only potter. I sold almost everything and even got some commissions. I want to thank you all, for your kindness, acceptance and support. Along with all your great advice I was able to feel confident that I could do this. It wasn't about the money, but it was ok, but just knowing that I have friendships that care about me, makes me a millionair. I couldn't have don...

  23. Darnit, the heat finally broke (gonna be 80! Yippee!), and I'm stuck cleaning house. It'd be a perfect trimming day, too. I think I'll try and underglaze later on, though. Pics? :)
