Looking good, how many colors are you going to use? I seen your wood firing albumn earlier today, nice work..
-
I like the wiggle wire bottoms. I'm usually all for a trimmed foot, but I do like that alternative. Looks like you will be busy glazin'.

Clear, oatmeal rust, shino with shino rio splash, falls creek shino, vc71 / crimson, VC 71/BOB, vc71/ fcs under randys red/ vc71/ local, ash glaze, local, ash glaze, / seaworld, / ice blue, / bob 2. I was shooting for 100 cups for a trunk show given just under a months notice. I thnk I'm shy of 80.. I realiize I'm no production potter. 20 cups max per, sitting was all I could muster. The wiggle wire while I like was subconcious decision not to trim.then I limited the number do cup...

So I had a bag of grit spill on the porch, I cleaned up most of it turns out my cats, one is named shino, likes the fine grit dirt bath... I let them out in backyard today, when I called them in, yes they come when called, they had some gray dust on them ....Well they found the spot where I had spilled some Alberta slip..... high class kitties..... regular dirt is no longer good enough.....

cutting metal and learning to weld (all wood fired kiln building skills)!!!!!! the angle grider an metal brush leaves hand comfortrably numb.

Spring is here! Nice examples Biglou. I think I will glaze some slabs. The sun finally came out today.

Of course, we dare not call this 'fun' or 'playing with fire'...but as Ben says, "it's addictive".

Hi, haven't made in awhile buts yes still making, never used mark and daves .... Who makes that.... It's been about a year since throwing porcelain, I had it figured out second day....clay was too wet day one. And it took a day for "it" to click....... I'm throwing a modified Cushing/Galloway body.

Daves is a Laguna porcelain body-you can get it at Axners in FL.Its not as bright white as some.

Frustrated was unable to trim yesterday's practice. I need to remind myself porcelain is quirky. I you can't rush poreclain. It took substandard trimming on a few pieces before I realized. Then it took me way to long to switch gears and be productive.

There are a lot of metrosexual men out there who are as high maintenance as porcelain! : )
-
I switch all the time between porcelain and stoneware. It's easier on my back to use porcelain. But I love making stoneware mugs and bowls.

Any sort of clay in the Spring time can be quirky as you never know if the moisture level in the air is going to slow or speed drying. Spring is the thing, not the clay
