We found the tricky part was figuring out the length to cut the wire.

Good luck, cut longer rather than shorter!

How hard.....for me out of the question.

Well the wire has arrived :D £6 for 50m. Hopefully that will make the two elements that I need. Need some insulating fire bricks now! They are a lot more of my hard earned money :(

  2. First time I have done a proper cone test in my kiln. Turns out the bottom is hotter than the top. Weird. I guess that big gap between the lid and body needs to be filled!

I lived on the south coast for 3 years so I am used to it :D Where people believe anything past London is north.

Only when you go past Watford are you "up north". Says the southern softie daughter of a Geordie.

  3. After three successful glaze firings without any of the wires getting hot I finally trust that the kiln is fixed! Happy days. Time to start making money

My kilngod effigies have been reduced to sitting on a shelf as they were not very good at protecting the kiln. They glare at me from afar but I just laugh and start quoting V=IR

I love to look at youtube kiln opening videos and learn about glaze results people have. I get inspiration and start drawing out ideas.
