I've never fired in that cold, nor do I want to. I'd go with too hot though. You don't have to dress in layers.

Great colors though.

my big oval is really well insulated. Took over 30 hours for the bisque to cool. but the fan was running and it comes on at 120 F.

so much nicer to fire in the winter, especially if its snowing outside & you can sit in the kiln shed with a nice cup of coffee!

My 6.5 top loader is custom built 3" brick and 2" fiber. Anymore I just turn it off when done firing and check it two days later.

my dog dislocated her hip/femur. 2 weeks of nursing her back to walking. Poor dog. She is tough.

She is hobbling aaround and followed me around the yard as I was working in the yard. She is always by my side.

I'm so sorry Marcia. Our dog Booter had a tumor removed from his lung 2 wk ago. He is back to being the fun buddy I know and love.
I hope your dog heals well.

My former students in the area are coming to visit me. Actually, one was back in Montana for Maine on vacation.. He works for an exclusive furniture company in Maine. Another recently retired from teaching. She'll be visiting soon.

It is nice to catch up. I enjoy seeing Bill daley over the 40+ years its been since I was his student. He writes to me and congratulates me on my writing etc.

My husband was on TV yesterday for the NSF news conference in brownsville, Tx re; the discovery of Gravitational Waves. He works at the Center for Gravitational Waves Astronomy. He is still very excited by the discovery.

My ix weeks in Rome are quickly coming to an end. Firings are scheduled for the remaining days. Rome is dressed for the holidays. It has been a great experience.. Be back in US Dec. 15.

Nice studio day today while a cold drizzle was outside. Got some finishing done, trimmed and assemble pots and threw some more pieces. The sun is out this evening til 9:40

Obvara will be ready on Friday. May have to do a pre-dawn firing to avoid meltdown..of me!
