looking for a white slip recipe for terra cotta

Recommended Posts

Hi All! I'm looking for a white slip recipe for terra cotta. I do a lot of intricate underglaze work and I'm sick of my colors burning out in cone 6. So I though id try low fire. now, I'm a porcelain girl through and through so this is a big change. I'm trying to get the cleanest and smoothest white base. My friend who does TC only was using Naomi Clements recipe but it started to flake off after bisque and I cant risk that happening as I paint on bone dry and it takes me many hours. any suggestions?

Hi Steph and welcome to the forum.

Linda Arbuckle pdf with a good recipe on page 4. What is helpful from this pdf also is the troubleshooting tips on page 3.

Which brands and colours are burning off?
