Pat B.
I threw a couple of plant pots with separate saucers for them. Then I read that some people prefer the saucer and plant pot to be attached. Can I put glazes on both (not wiping the bottom of the pot, just the bottom of the saucer) and put the glazed pot into the glazed saucer and fire them like that? They should stick together, right? Any reason this is a bad idea?
Callie Beller Diesel
The only problem with that is if the drainage hole is blocked, it’s not going to drain anymore. But yeah, the adhesion part should work.
Pat B.
I actually thought of it while the pots were still leather hard so I made the drainage holes through the sides. I just wanted to be sure they will really "stick" together, I don't want someones saucer falling off when they move the pot.
Callie Beller Diesel
Then I think as long as your glaze isn’t crazed, you should be good. It’d be more structurally sound to have it in one piece, but plant pots don’t always get a lot of knocking around.

Babs
Be prepared for some to detach if get knocked . Don't know the rrsults of temp changes. Some folk used to attach knobs etc with glaze alone unsuccessfully..
Fred Sweet
A lot will depend upon firing temp. Cone 10 is most effective due to larger glaze/body interface. Cone 6 is okay, but 06 I wouldn’t count on it working.
Mark C.
Best if trays are thrown on the pot and the drain holes are in the sides draining into the trays.
Min
I'ld just fire them separately then there are no worries they will come apart.
