Chasells
I am new to firing and I had fired a cone 6 speckled clay along with my cone 8 porcelain that ended up with small bloated bubbles on then after the bisque firing. Wanting to see what went wrong.

Min
Classic bloats from overfiring the clay, your cone 6 body doesn't like being fired to cone 8.
Chasells
I didn't think so. Is ok to fire both my porcelain and other clay bodies at cone 6?
Chasells
I meant to say can I fire them together at cone 6?

Your porcelain would be underfired at cone 6, so not recommended. Welcome to the forum!
Sorcery
I'm confused about "after bisque". Bloated after bisque? Or after Cone 8? If you can get Standard 365 porcelain in Hotlanta, it's good at cone 6. Yours may be ok at 6. I fired a cone 10 Porcelain at 8 and it was well under 1% absorption. The manganese bloats can be lessened with a slow schedule end. I reckon you could find a happy Cone 7 ground with the porcelain in the hot spots and the Mang in the cool. neilestrick
So this was a bisque firing? You want to bisque fire to cone 04, regardless of the glaze temp that you'll be firing to. That way the pots will still be porous and will take glaze easily. If you bisque fire to cone 6 or 8, they will be vitrified and will not take glaze well. Find a porcelain that matures at cone 6, not cone 8, or it will be under-fired at 6. Standard 365 works great like Sorc said, but there are others out there. Cone 8 is an odd temp, as most folks fire to 6 or 10.
