Shara Vilagi
I am about to move from California to Montana and I can’t glaze all my work before the move. I have been able to bisque all my work at least...which is less fragile than green ware but still fragile. What are the do’s and don’ts to packing work at this stage?!? Can I stack the work using bubble wrap? Or will the pieces get strained/cracks that will show up once glazed? Any advice would be wonderful! Mark C.
Pack it carefully and hope for the best. Treat the boxes well as you move them. Buy more warm cloths before you move as it colder than Ca. there by x10
oldlady
it might be tempting to pile a lot of bisque pots in large containers but remember they will feel heavy when loaded. pack smaller boxes with arrows facing up so you handle them gently as they will be moved several times before unpacking. putting towels or blankets among the pottery as you pack will give some wiggle room with soft things to bounce off.
