Mark C.
I used to spray ITC on shelves -I think it will work but you will need a few coats.I use a paint roller now for my homemade wash.
Callie Beller Diesel
+1 for a paint roller. It's fast and effective, and there's no overspray.

neilestrick
4 scoops alumina hydrate 4 scoops flint 2 scoops kaolin 2 scoops calcined kaolin If it settles too quickly add another scoop of kaolin. Depends on how watery you make it.
Mark C.
Mine I have used for 40 years with -it costs more to make but it really works well. Alumina hydrate 50% EPK 25% calcined epk 25% I apply it as a thick cream consistency with a paint roller with a roller with a drip expanded metel tray hanging in 5 gallon bucket. I load it up and roll the shelve with two passes to cover a 12x 24-let it sun dry and apply another coat. fire with bisque pots on it in bisque load then high fire with pots on it heres an old post on application http://community.ceramicartsdaily.org/topic/3025-kiln-wash-application-on-a-sunny-day/?hl=%2Bkiln+%2Bwash&do=findComment&comment=107150
KachemakKaren
Regarding "scoops" and "%" in these formulas, this is volume measurement - not like measuring out a glaze formula? Mine I have used for 40 years with -it costs more to make but it really works well. Alumina hydrate 50% EPK 25% calcined epk 25% 4 scoops alumina hydrate 4 scoops flint 2 scoops kaolin 2 scoops calcined kaolin If it settles too quickly add another scoop of kaolin. neilestrick
Yes, mine is by volume. Kiln wash doesn't need to be so exact as weighing out glazes. Not sure about Mark's recipe. Usually when we see % it means by weight.
