      i can center 7 to 11 method and open but i can not pull,having a hard time for some reason..

      Pulling is all about the feel. You have to do it a lot to get accustomed to using the appropriate amount of pressure. I've been experimenting with larger forms lately, and I've had to get used to applying ,more pressure than normal, to get all that clay up from the foot. I'm still not there, but getting better.

  3. Tomorrow is my first Throw-A-Thon... I have not had the chance to just set and throw for a day to see what i can do.. Tomorrow it is... many breaks included, thats my style :)~

      This is totally true. I sit on a tilt back never hurts, and I have a bad back.

      im about to start so I re-set my chair to where im on a tilt and sat in it and cleaned the wheel real good.. I like how it feels, there is no awkward pressure anywhere..

       

  4. I added some pictures to my gallery under mugs/cups if you would like to look... having fun with base coat color, hopefully when i start making my own glazes i will have a better idea of what i want..

  5. Finally, after many ,many practice sessons , I finally threw a big bowl that looks like it should.. weight is between 12 to 14 lbs with a diameter of 17.5'' ... practice is paying off

      those spray guns are great. Just like Geil's. The HVLP unit I got previously was a gun made for the compressor. Basically for paint.

      Think stretch a bit more and slide after the "fold". More than rams head..... And easier to get with larger amount of clay

      got the handles done, ate some pizza threw some more mugs, trying to get a back stock of bisque mugs... The ladies {about 60} at Cindy's work are wearing me out lol, they love our mugs and her tea pots...

  9. 2 handles left to attatch.. Im not very good at handles and i appreciate those who are.. My old art teacher used to say "if you put in the time on what your not as good at, it can beocme what your best at." thats what im aiming for..

      I had the same problem today. Going to reclaim my hard clay and stick the softer stuff.

  14. Good results on our last glaze firing- Porcelain makes glazes come to life, very vivid color.. we even made some slip to test it on other clay bodies, results were just like the body itself.

  21. Mastering ^6 glazes- got it yesterday , just finished reading it. good book..Really helps a functional potter..

  22. bisque firing is done.. 1 more glaze load and were done with our first ceramic X-mas..
