Starting to pack for 6 weeks on the road. leaving Sunday. my brain is frazzled between what I already shipped and what I need to carry with me in five weeks from now.

still cleaning off the wood fired pieces from pre-NCECA conference. Got a totally black piece in wood and a light white with a touch of tan in the wood-soda kiln. similar small sculptures. Interesting.

still in Montana where my new work is really selling well. it makes me happy because it is hard to sell in in Texas. I have a strong reputation in Montana even after being gone for Six years.

Still room in the Alternative firing workshop at Bracker's Good earth Clays, Lawrence, Kansas, Sept. 26-27. Early bird fees good until Aug. 15.

studio maintenance in the works. Building 3 raku kilns in the next few days. I have a workshop on South Padre Island and need to replace my old worn out rusted barrel. Also trying a smaller version with steel facing that I have had for years 20" wide. I have had this idea for several years just didn't want to do it. Today is beautiful, sunny and 61 F.

Surprised that I sold a lot of my Spanish pottery collection to my neighbors. That was the big seller today.

Taking the long way home...NCECAI, then family in NY and now train to friends in Philadelphia. Will be home on Tues night.

Taxes done. Brew for Obvara has been sitting for three days. SO today I will fire!

Teaching is a great service job and can be very rewarding. Glitches can be working conditions, administration, etc.
But there are great rewards.

Thanks for contributing. Haben't seen you here very often. I am starting to teach this semester at UT Brownsville. I would love to get rid of the 6 types of clay and a zillion glazes in the shop...but that will take time.
