This is my large raku kiln at my studio. This is how I pick up the slabs with my heat resistant gloves.

while driving through a residential area, i was stopped by the colorful beauty of the overflowing bed of nasturtiums. had to limit the number of leaves since the stem i used was so full of leaves and flowers. too much for clarity.

well, i loved the idea of this bowl, tried to do it last year but did not have room in the kiln for it. so it sat around since january of 2017 waiting. do you see the crack in the rim? do not do this. i think that as i put it into the bottom of the kiln, i used only one hand, stressing the rim. i know better but it was in an awkward place so i think that is what happened. do not do this. blue slip with brush strokes that show, green stroke and coat, red stroke and coat and yellow bug in stroke and coat. sad....................

This is proof positive that I am a potter because this is surely a pot.

a second attempt. on this one, while still on just paper, i tried to remove some excess red where i ran over the black lines. i used a Q-tip and got the color off but it did not all come off so you can see some paler color outside the lines.
