glazenerd
to quote a line from a song by Country Joe McDonald (Wood Stock) "it's finally over, I am through at last" "I got your money, and made you laugh" Nerd Looks like it is time for the snow bird to fly. I do want to know how you taught Bentley to take pictures. I KNOW you didn't program the camera to do a delayed exposure. I am so glad you got it all glazed... now it's time to fire! oldlady
thank you all for the kind words. have filled 8 old wire refrigerator racks with flat things and those 5 bowls. now to fit it all into the kiln on sunday. where is my shoehorn. (you young'ns don't know what that is.) terry, i was just getting ready to try to have the camera delay taking the shot when my neighbor came by in her golf cart. you can see that i messed up posting only one picture. the website said i did not choose a file so i did it again. sigh..................... oldlady
preeta, if you click anyone's avatar you can go to gallery pictures done by that individual. the gallery pictures stay and there is apparently no limit to the number that can be posted. you should post something and start a gallery page so we can see what you like to make. if someone adds a photo in a post, as i did at the top of this page, it counts among the 1000 images allowed. (i think it is 1000, is that right?) and finding a particular picture means looking for only one post as opposed to an entire gallery. i spray thick glazes on greenware because it is so easy. the dry clay absorbs the glaze instantly and the piece can be handled as quickly as i can hang the sprayer in its holster, freeing my hands to pick up the piece. the holster is the black plastic cylinder wired to the corner of the grey table frame. the empty table frame holds lots of wire refrigerator shelves so i can fill them up and carry the glazed pots to the kiln room. glazing green allows me to do a bunch in the time it would take to dip and wait for a few pieces of bisqueware to dry and i always left fingermarks where i did not want them. i really dislike glazing bisque. preeta
oh wow. i did not know you did glaze on greenware. so the bowl hanging upside down is greenware! wow. i do remember your thread from last fall when you were collecting leaves for impressions in your square forms. i do look at the galleries from time to time but dont post there. i must say thank you so much for the comments and explanations you write about your pieces. it is tremendously helpful for my learning. i feel v. self conscious about my student work and that's why i havent posted anything yet. i've just started to like my work.
