You know, the scientist are saying about 6 southern states are in an unusually cold pattern that has been going on since the 1960's. They call it a "Warming Hole" - go figure...

take care of your hand. I had to get a 1/4" piece of glass removed surgically from the back of my finger when I was drilling a support on the wall and leaned back on the floor. that took a while to heal. Keep your cut clean.

My husband, son and I were vacationing in Orlando and went to see a Space shuttle launch.  They had been having trouble with the shuttle so launches weren't happening very often.  We took a chance and got up at 3 in the morning and drove to a look out point.   They almost cancel it three times and then decided to launch,  the roar of the engine was impressive but the shaking of the ground so far away was amazing.  We could have been a launch guest,  my husband's second cousin was head of the space shuttle program.  We decided to watch from a distance and not bother him even though other family members had.  My in-laws were special guest to see the Hubble telescope launched into space.    Denice

For salt & soda : P700, H570 & H550. I like them all but 570 mixed with 550 is my favourite & it has a few speckles - Callie recommended that mix. The P700 is nice and even translucent a bit in part, even covered with slip when you hold something up to the light! I guess so far I have only used their clay.
Plainsman doesn't get involved in exploration, other than within a short radius around Medicine Hat.

Envy.  As a kid, I saw a mid-'50's rocket launch from the swamp (with quicksand--I remember my aunt warning me not to go wading) directly across from Cape Canaveral. Have never forgotten the awe and majesty of that. I think about that uplifting (pun intended) experience sometimes when I am feeling really down about the idiocy/greed/hatefulness of the human species.

I've got some that needs recycling too. It is crazy expensive isn't it?!! The supplier here is selling by the half box, somehow 35- for 22 lbs doesn't seem as bad as 70 for 44.

I’m not quite willing to say “act together” yet for fedex. They had marked the shipment as delivered almost two weeks ago, but the boxes were still somewhere in their system until yesterday. Tried to ask “what’s the story” and so far nobody knows.

terrim8 reacted to LeeU in Still freezing. I hate 'pages". Working on a small catalogue & things keep disapp
Problem is the conversion from Word etc. to Pages etc.and vice-versa is not always a two-way street. It is hard to shift from one system to another when one way is virtually automatic from years of experience and the "new" one has been perversely set up to be "backwards" & everything is in weird places. I feel your pain!

I was in their office & there was a map on the wall with all their deposits. Everything was distributed sort of like a circle around Medicine hat & part of that circle crossed the border so you are correct. they were really complaining  about the costs of some stuff that came from further away in the US so there must be some ingredients that they have to order from other places.

I use to call them test tiles. After the first thousand, I renamed them burgers: attaching a food name to them knocks down the boredom.
