Kelly in AK Posted December 9, 2023 Report Posted December 9, 2023 I was rearranging my glaze materials, making space, trying to cull out stuff I never use, and I came across twenty pounds of lithium carbonate. Something I don’t use, which is why I forgot I had it. So much talk about how expensive it’s gotten made me wonder enough to look up what it actually costs, you know… just in case. Now I’m totally confused. Prices from ceramic suppliers, some I’ve ordered from and some I haven’t but are well known, are all over the place. They ranged from $50 to $130 a pound. Does anyone know how much lithium carbonate costs? Quote
C.Banks Posted December 9, 2023 Report Posted December 9, 2023 For some of us with lithium problems that's like finding a horde of buried treasure. iirc 500g @ 120$ was the last restock cost in some parts of north america Kelly in AK 1 Quote
Kelly in AK Posted December 9, 2023 Author Report Posted December 9, 2023 Thank you Mark, that explains it very well. A wide combination of factors creates the variation in price. Quote
Babs Posted December 9, 2023 Report Posted December 9, 2023 And still we are throwing awY lithium batteries. Kelly in AK 1 Quote
Morgan Posted December 10, 2023 Report Posted December 10, 2023 Ya it’s all over the place…I saw Seattle pottery supply trying to sell 50lbs for over $8k. Speechless on that one even with high prices. I do know one supplier that had a large cache that was not fine so they had it done and sell it much much cheaper (relatively) to a lot of others. trinity ceramic supply in tx. Kelly in AK 1 Quote
Mark C. Posted December 10, 2023 Report Posted December 10, 2023 Battery technology is moving fast and maybe soon Lithium will not be a major ingredient and the price will go down. Roberta12 and Kelly in AK 2 Quote
Babs Posted December 12, 2023 Report Posted December 12, 2023 Not been aware of prices going the other way in my neck of the woods, mines tend to close when the share holder returns are nit " good" enough Quote
