ashhorth
Hi my friend wrote on her bisque mugs with a metallic felt pen/sharpie can this be glazed and fired in a kiln?
Min
Are you worried about it burning out or damaging the kiln? I would strongly imagine it will just burn out, might leave a bit of a residual mark. Is that yellow, pink, peach and blue glaze or underglaze (or slip) on the foot? JohnnyK
As Min said, it would probably burn out and the glaze on the foot would probably stick to the kiln shelf. If your friend is interested in a metallic text, she might us Amaco's PC-4 Palladium and outline it with a black underglaze or glaze pencil... ashhorth
Thankyou both my concern was it ruining the mug or my kiln! As Im not sure what pens can be used on bisque I’ve only ever Stuck with pencil some glaze is on the base but I will wax the base or wash of those bits to prevent it sticking
Babs
Wash off glaze from foot. Waxing will only leave glaze to stick to shelf when wax burns out!
