Emily F
Hey there! I have an Evenheat Kiln 1818 that has a Nema 6-30 plug. I wondered if I could buy This adapter and use the dryer outlet? It’s outside; properly ventilated. The dryer is a 250v outlet.
Emily F
I should also mention it has a Kiln Sitter LT-3K attached to it. See pics of kiln plug, kiln manual, plug adapter I’m looking at, and dryer plug/outlet.
neilestrick
I'm not a big fan of adapters and they're not usually recommended by kiln manufacturers. It's just creating more connections that could be a problem. If it were my kiln I would just change the plug or get a new power cord. But call Evenheat and see what they say. Bill Kielb
I agree with Neil, not a fan of more connections. My preference would be to buy the correct cord end and install assuming you still want to use the dryer. If not then I would buy the matching receptacle and install it in place of the existing dryer receptacle.
Mark C.
More connections make for more possibility of more heat when they get loose. Any loose connect with get hot on large amp draws like kilns.Less connections less issues
