Bajamary
I'm looking at doing a Aluminum Sager firing and using the book titled Alternative Kilns and Firing Techniques by Jim Watkins. In his list of materials and tools he calls for Copper Sulfate to both sprinkle around the pot and also to soak some spanish moss in to add to the foil package. I cannot seem to locate anyone who sells Copper Sulfate. Does anyone know of a source?

Bajamary
Thanks so much, I would have never thought to look on Amazon. I should have, though, they seem to have just about everything these days...
Marcia Selsor
I get many of my aluminum saggar firing chemical, including copper and iron sulphate, on eBay. US pigments may also carry it. I mix 25 grams at a time. You don't want to dump these chemicals, so use up what you mix. Marcia
neilestrick
I vaguely remember hearing that you can get copper sulfate at the hardware store? Like in the gardening center, or you could use some sort of plant product that contained it or something like that? Or am I thinking of something else? terrim8
I think the main ingredients in Bordo mixture are copper sulphate and calcium carbonate. It is used as a fungicide - mildew on roses, etc. Some garden centres will sell the ingredients individually but that is rare these days so I think Amazon is best. Dick White
Home Despot and sLowes both carry it under the brand name of ZEP Root Killer.

Rex Johnson
I use Miracle Grow in saggars with good results. If there are specific chemicals you're looking for try Ebay. You can buy ceramic grade stuff at better price. You can order direct from his company or on the Ebat sight: Auctiva Emporium
