congrats on a nice save.
Thank you! This piece is lovely and I look forward to making more like it that DON'T have to be refired!

Thank you, @Roberta12 . I'm so happy with this one. The whole piece was glaze fired to Cone 5 with clear over the interior. I'm always thinking how something is going to be in use and how it will be kept clean. This clay is so rough that without clear it would harbor all kinds of unpleasantness if left unglazed.

Cool, Marko! Your glazes came out awesome!

@TLDinNC That is the break over carving. Love this glaze. Shows any kind of texture, raised or carved.
@Joseph F. Thanks! I've found that this glaze needs 4-5 coats for the lovely lighter blue float to really come up. It does bubble sometimes but the risk is worth it for the color.

If you want them glazed all over, try Roselli stilts. http://www.theceramicshop.com/store/department/9/Stilts/
You balance the piece on the little wire points. When fired, the stilts pop off and do leave little tiny marks but they are barely noticeable. -
Love the dapple green glaze!

I think your brain works like mine! Looking at your work, I see a similar combination of structured, symmetrical pieces and freeform abstract.

This glaze is simply lovely.

Fabulous!!!

Do you make these in pieces and then assemble, or throw them all at once?

Thanks! This was a design I worked up for my sister, and it came out so nicely that I have now made five others. A lime and a teal one have sold, so these are my "winter" colors. Eventually I'll have one in each color.

SUCH TITLE. VERY LAUGH. WOW.

These are nice blues!

Is that all coil texture on the outside of the bowls or did you flatten the coils then incise the design? Either way I very much like this look.

This is very cool. Looks like it came straight out of a dig! (That's meant to be a compliment, I really like it!)

Thanks Mark! No, I use iron oxide a bit. I have a hard time getting the mixture right. This was 50% oxide, 50% water and still did not do anything exciting in my opinion.
There is nothing like the feeling of carving leather hard clay.

This is very wonderful texture. Love it. Intriguing and reminds me of barnacles or something under the sea. Wish I could pick it up.

I'm out of Likes! Grr!

Thank you! I think it's my favorite thing out of the most recent kiln load. So fun to carve.
